Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (* July 30, 1947, in Thal, Styria) is an Austrian-American actor, publicist, author, entrepreneur, former bodybuilder, and former U.S. politician affiliated with the Republican Party. From 2003 to 2011, he served as the 38th Governor of California. Before that, he gained international recognition primarily as a seven-time Mr. Olympia and due to numerous Hollywood films—especially for his portrayal of the Terminator. This role earned him the nickname "Governator" in anticipation of his candidacy.
