Barbra Streisand (born Barbara Joan Streisand, April 24, 1942, in New York City) is one of the most prolific entertainers of the last century. With a career spanning over six decades, she’s won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. Streisand began her career in the early 1960s performing in nightclubs before rising to prominence as a Broadway star. In 1963, she released her debut album “The Barbra Streisand Album,” a top 10 in the US and winner of two Grammys. In 1973, “The Way We Were” became her first of five No. 1 hit singles in the US. " Others included Woman in Love" and “Evergreen,” which won an Oscar as the theme song for the film “A Star Is Born,” in which Streisand also played the lead. Streisand married twice, first to Elliott Gould (1963 – 1971) and then to James Brolin, whom she married in 1998. She is 82 years old.
