Out of Chico California Bear Hunter has emerged. Drummer Clint Bear, guitarist Chris Hunter and guitarist / bassist / vocalist Maurice Spencer made their rounds through the Northern California music scene before finally joining forces in the summer of 2001. The band is going for a sound that is experimental and conversely dark and poppy, reminiscent of groups like Pavement, The Cure, Broken Social Scene and The Flaming Lips.
