Bob Marley Concert History

Bob Marley (born Robert Nesta Marley, February 6, 1945 – May 11, 1981) was a Jamaican musician and activist. He is regarded as a pioneer of the reggae genre whose work helped spread Jamaican culture and Rastafarianism around the world. Marley began recording music in 1962 and performed for a short bit as a solo artist. In 1963, he co-founded the band Bob Marley & The Wailers. Post-1963, the vast majority of his concerts were performed with The Wailers. In 1977, Marley was diagnosed with cancer. On May 21, 1981, Bob Marley passed away from the disease. There have been many posthumous depictions of Marley's life, including the 2020 Broadway musical "Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical!" and the 2024 biopic "Bob Marley: One Love." He should not be confused with the comedian of the same name.
