In 2019, Daniel Gerard "Breland" released his debut single "My Truck." With the song reaching 26 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, Breland emerged at the forefront of the emerging country-trap movement, alongside artists like Lil Nax X and RMR. In 2020, Breland dropped two EPs: "Breland" and "Rage and Sorrow." Throughout 2021 and 2022, Breland released a series of singles featuring some of country music's biggest stars including "Throw it Back" with Keith Urban, "High Horse" with Nelly and Blanco Brown, "Praise the Lord" with Thomas Rhennt, and "Told You I Could Drink" with Lady A. Each of these appeared on Breland's debut studio album "Cross Country," released on September 9, 2022.
