Brian Douglas Wilson (June 20, 1942 – June 11, 2025) is singer-songwriter who co-founded The Beach Boys in 1961. He formally departed from the band in 1982 and embarked on a solo career, releasing his self-titled debut album in 1988. In 1999, he commenced on his first solo tour throughout the US and Japan. He continued touring and releasing music until the early 2020s when his health deteriorated. Wilson's final performance was on July 26, 2022. Two years later, it was announced that he was suffering from dementia, and on June 11, 2025, Brian Wilson passed away. His family did not give a cause of death. Wilson is also the father of Carnie and Wendy Wilson, members of Wilson Phillips.
