He was born in Greenville, South Carolina and used to be the lead singer of the band Half Past Forever (Formerly known as The Chris Sligh Band). They recorded an album called "Take A Chance On Something Beautiful" for which Chris wrote 11 and co-wrote 4 of the 17 tracks.
