Charles Edward Anderson Berry (18 October 1926 – 18 March 2017) was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter, widely regarded as a pioneer of rock and roll. Often referred to as the “Father of Rock and Roll”, he played a significant role in developing rhythm and blues into the style that became rock and roll. His best-known songs include "Maybellene" (1955), "Roll Over Beethoven" (1956), "Rock and Roll Music" (1957), and "Johnny B. Goode" (1958).

Eric Andersen (born February 14, 1943) is an American folk music singer-songwriter, who has written songs recorded by Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Linda Ronstadt, the Grateful Dead, Rick Nelson, and many others. Early in his career, in the 1960s, he was part of the Greenwich Village folk scene. In 1966 he made his Newport Folk Festival debut. The Beatles' manager Brian Epstein was in the process of becoming his manager when he died. Joni Mitchell cites Andersen as the source of her open tunings. He left the band shortly before their gig at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, although he did play a solo set. He formed Blood, Sweat & Tears in 1967, leaving due to creative differences in 1968, after the release of the group's first album, Child Is Father to the Man. He first performed with Bob Dylan playing the Hammond organ riffs on "Like a Rolling Stone". In 1965, Memorial Auditorium in Dallas hosted the Five Americans, the Gentrys and Chuck Berry. I cannot find a reference to this concert anywhere, but I know that it occurred because I was there. My father took me and my little sister, and we got in with five Oscar Mayer wiener wrappers, and two dollars each.

Simetime in the summer of 1968 Chuck Berry played the Club Inferno in Williamsville NY. I know because I was there.
