Conway Twitty's 1982 Concert History

Conway Twitty (September 1, 1933 – June 5, 1993), born Harold Lloyd Jenkins, was one of the most successful country and rockabilly music stars in history. Beginning his career as a rock and roll singer in the late 1950s, Twitty was constantly reinventing himself. Throughout the late 1960s, he began recording country singles. In 1970, his "Hello Darlin'" reached the top of the US Country singles chart. The following year marked another transition when he and Loretta Lynn teamed up to become one of country music's most iconic duos. Together, they won the Country Music Association Award for Vocal Duo of the Year four years in a row. Before Conway Twitty passed away in 1993, landed 40 number-one singles on the Country charts, the most of any artist until 2009. Strait has been posthumously inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame.
