Coptic's 2011 Concert History

The ancient hymns of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Egypt are among the oldest continuously used liturgical music traditions in the world. Many of these hymns date back nearly 2,000 years—some possibly to the early centuries of Christianity and even pre-Christian Egyptian chants adapted into Christian worship. Passed down orally through generations, these melodies are preserved in the Coptic language, a direct descendant of Ancient Egyptian.
