In 1969, after releasing its debut album, the David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash invited Neil Young to join thier band Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) as keyboardist. He accepted, and the band became known as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY). While Young remained with the band until its first break-up in 1970 and again after it reunited in 1973, he left in 1974. CSN continued on after Young's departure, though Young re-joined the band between 1986-1988 and 1999-2006 as well as in 1991 and 2013. When Young is a member of CSN, the band is known as CSNY. As CSNY, the band released three studio albums: Déjà Vu (1970), American Dream (1988), and Looking Forward (1999). All were top 30 hits in the US with the band's debut album being the only one of the eight studio albums released between CSN and CSNY to reach the top spot.
