Daryl Hall & John Oates, commonly referred to as just "Hall & Oates", were a duo that fused rock, soul, pop, and R&B to create a unique and ever-evolving sound. The two met in Philadelphia in 1967 and three years later signed to Atlantic Records, which released their debut album "Whole Oats" (1972). In 1977 the two released "Rich Girl", their first number-one hit single. This marked the beginning of the band's most popular period, with their sixth and final single to top the charts, "Out of Touch", dropping in 1984. The following year they performed at Live Aid. The duo continued touring and recording together over the next several decades but disbanded in 2024 due to irreconcilable differences.
