Dave Mustaine (born September 13, 1961 in La Mesa, California, United States) is a 1961-09-13 heavy metal guitarist, songwriter, and singer. As the frontman of Megadeth and Metallica's first lead guitarist (1981-1983), he is considered to be one of the original creative forces behind the creation of trash metal in the 1980s and its continued popularity to the present day.
