Detox Unit is the stage name used Joe Roberts, a Denver based DJ who works in the bass style, loaded with electronic textures that go deep into the synthetic sound. He uses breakbeats combined with plenty of glitch and scratch. His music is filled with beat changes and creative spoken word loops that create a stutter step effect. Its synth heavy nature and lack of any softening effect whether in the form of acoustic instruments or human voice gives his work a somewhat cold, mechanical feel.
