Skupina Distant Bells byla založena 3.11.2003 a to původně jen pro ztvárnění živé kapely v divadelní hře „Odysea zvaná Pink Floyd“ napsané Přemkem Dofkem a Karlem Carbolem. Z této sestavy se zrodila kapela, která začala fungovat pod jménem Distant Bells. Autorem názvu kapely byl tehdejší basista Milan Zink. „Distant Bells“ je část textu písně Fat Old Sun z alba Atom Hearth Mother. V průběhu času koncertovala kapela rok od roku více, dostala se i do Německa, Rakouska, Polska nebo Slovenska.
