Mickster didn't just get his name because of his DJ-ing skills, but also from his Chilean/Dutch background. That's where his signature sound comes from, something he describes as Hip-hop meets Latin. Born and raised in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, but has been travelling through Central America with his parents since the age of 5 years old. They made a stop in Belize for a year and that's where he started listening to early 80's black music and typical Latin American music.
