What began as a group of friends with common interests in music evolved naturally into the current configuration that is Don Chani. The lead singer and principal songwriter, Mark Shaddock, spent time in Jamaica as a teenager absorbing the music and culture that is so strongly associated with the island nation. After meeting Erick Bohorquez (lead guitar, vocals), Oney, and Jacob Benenate aka Dr. Dubbist (drums), they soon fused their musical styles with the decidedly reggae oriented drumming style of Dr.
