Efrim Menuck is a Canadian musician based in Montreal best known for his work with Godspeed You! Black Emperor and A Silver Mt Zion. Both bands are highly influential in the post-rock genre, and Efrim is considered a pioneer of the genre, despite his distaste for the tag. Godspeed You! Black Emperor's work is usually based around large crescendos and compositions rather than songs - all GY!BE songs to date are instrumental, apart from various samples and tape loops used in songs, a factor of their music GY!BE are famous for.
