Lucia Ablett aka Emcee Lucia (preferred to be called) Lucia was born in Wellington on the 12th of March 1973. She grew up in Strathmore. She started writing poetry at 11 and began taking an interest in Rap in the 80s after hearing Run DMC, The Fat Boys and The Beastie boys rhythmically venting from her big brother's bedroom. Lucia stole those tapes and spent hours on her tape deck pressing stop and play, copying the lyrics and rapping along with the MCs.
