Erectus Monotone were a short-lived cool-named avant-garde indie-rock band from Chapel Hill, NC, formed probably sometime around the summer of 1989. Three of them, Kevin Collins (vocals, guitar), Andy Freeburn (guitar, vocals) and Will "Casper" Lee (drums) had been jamming together previously with another fellow named David Jordan, but things hadn't really worked out. However, they came across their friend Jennifer Walker (bass) and things started to work out.
