Figures on a Beach was a new wave techno pop band that formed in Detroit, Michigan in the early 1980s (out of the prior band Razor 1922).They gigged around clubs like Clutch Cargo and Bookies with vocalist Anthony Kaczynski, guitarist John Rolski, keyboardist Christopher Ewen, bassist Perry Tell, and drummer, Michael "Smitt E Smitty" Smith. Figures on a Beach recorded an independent EP, Swimming, in 1983, and the Don Was-produced single "Breathless" in 1984.
