The Foo Fighters are a post-grunge rock band formed in 1994 by Dave Grohl following the disbanding of Nirvana amid the death of frontman and lead vocalist Kurt Cobain. Prior to starting the Foo Fighters, Grohl was the drummer of Nirvana, but as a member of the Foo Fighters, he acts as lead singer, guitarist, and frontman.
