Friction was an early 90's Midwest post-hardcore/indie rock band based out of Illinois from 1991 to 1994. The band consisted of Bob Nanna (drums, vocals), Scott Broadhurst (bass), Andy Knudsen (guitar). Nanna has formed a number of bands, including Braid, Hey Mercedes, Certain People I Know, The City on Film and Lifted Bells.
