Fu Manchu is an American stoner rock band that originated in Orange County, California. The group was originally formed in 1985 under the name Virulence, a hardcore punk band, and later adopted the name Fu Manchu in 1990 following changes in lineup and musical direction. The band underwent multiple personnel changes during the 1980s and 1990s, and has maintained a stable lineup since 2001.
