Genesis is a progressive rock band formed in 1967 by students at the Charterhouse School in Godalming, Surrey, England. The original line-up consisted of lead singer and flutist Peter Gabriel, keyboardist Tony Banks, guitarists Anthony Phillips and Mike Rutherford, and drummer Chris Stewart. By 1970 both Stewart and Phillips had departed the band. That year, Phil Collins joined as drummer and backing vocalist with guitarist Steve Hackett joining the following year. Gabriel left in 1975 with Collins taking over as frontman and lead vocalist. Hackett left in 1977 followed by Collins in 1996. The band broke up four years later but reunited in 2006 with the Turn It On Again: The Tour taking place in 2007. At the end of the tour, the band went on hiatus until 2020 when members reunited for The Last Domino? Tour, which was postponed to September 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tour ended on March 26, 2022.
