Heart started in Seattle, Washington in 1967 and was originally called “The Army.” The band later became Hocus Pocus in 1969 and then White Heart in 1970. In 1973, they shortened the name to just “Heart.”
Prior to being called “Heart,” the band was called “White Heart.” They took this name from science fiction Arthur C. Clark’s anthology of short stories called Tales from the White Hart. The core, original members of Heart were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18, 2013 by Chris Cornell.

This led to tension within the group, and the other band members decided to vote Fisher out. However, he returned as one of the original members to perform at the band’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2013.
Ann Wilson is an American lead vocalist and songwriter for the rock band Heart alongside. She is one of the core, original members of the group. Sputnik Music ranked her as the 78th Greatest Heavy Metal Vocalist of All Time in 2006.
