Ainda adolescente, trabalhava em rádio e aprendeu violão inspirado por personagens de TV, começando a compor e cantar em eventos locais. Depois de integrar bandas regionais, mudou-se para o Rio Grande do Norte, onde decidiu investir de vez na carreira solo.
