Almost two decades ago Tom and Troy created what would become Illicit Sects, under the moniker Shadow Danse. They performed for many years throughout the Denver metro area with this acoustic act, but with the departure of the lead singer the band downshifted into a more metallic groove. With the addition of John and Kurt the band continued to perform and recorded one album, Creation. In 2004 Kurt disappeared from the Sectscape; enter Statch, formerly of Flyboxx.
