James Hetfield (born August 3, 1963, in Downey California) is a singer, guitarist, and one of the founding members of the thrash metal band Metallica. He has been named one of the greatest heavy metal guitarists by numerous sources including Hit Parader, Guitar World, and Rolling Stone. In addition to music, Hetfield has also ventured into acting, performing as Bob Hayward in Netflix's dramatic, true crime biopic of Ted Bundy, "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile," in 2019. Metallica's song "The Four Horsemen," from the band's 1983 debut album "Kill "Em All," was also featured in the movie.
