The Jeff Beck Group Concert History

After Jeff Beck departed from The Yardbirds in 1966, he went on to recruit members for his next project: The Jeff Beck Group. In 1967, the first Jeff Beck Group featured Beck on lead guitar, Ronnie Wood on rhythm guitar and later bass, Rod Stewart on vocals, and Nicky Hopkins on piano. The band was scheduled to perform at the Woodstock Music Festival in 1969, but Beck disbanded the group the night before. During this short period, the band went through six drummers. In 1970, The Jeff Beck Group formed a second time. Beck and Hopkins returned, joined by Alex Ligertwood and then Bobby Tench on vocals, Clive Chaman on bass, and Cozy Powell on drums. This iteration lasted until 1972 when Beck disbanded The Jeff Beck Group for the final time, going on to form Beck, Bogert & Appice.
