Jettison Charlie is from Richmond, Virginia, USA. The band started when its members were in high school and lasted through their mid-20s. In the songs, you can hear traces of punk, metal, reggae, pop, indie, sampling, and whatever else caught the members' fancy at the time. The band was probably too arty for the hardcore crowd and too hardcore for the arty crowd. That's another way of saying they created their own style. An early self-released single ("Probably Die Poor" / "Like John Donne") paved the way for incessant touring.
