KESI er en rapper fra Nørrebro i København med rødder i Zanzibar. Kesi startede sin musikalske karriere i 2010, da han som 17-årig lagde sine første sange på videotjenesten YouTube. Her opnåede han sammen med resten af rap-kollektivet B.O.C. på kort tid meget opmærksomhed som reaktion på sange som “Byen Sover” og “Fissehul” (med Gilli). Opmærksomheden betød, at Kesi i 2011 droppede ud af handelsgymnasiet Niels Brock efter at have skrevet kontrakt med pladeselskabet Universal.
