Larry's Rebels Concert History

Larry's Rebels were among the most important and successful rock and pop bands in New Zealand during the 1960s. The band formed in 1964 in Ponsonby, Auckland (originally as an instrumental band in 1962). They combined British beat music, American garage rock, and psychedelic influences into an energetic sound that made them national stars. The band was so popular in New Zealand that they were often referred to as "New Zealand's Animals"—a reference to their raw, bluesy sound and high-energy live shows.
