Laura Nyro's 1978 Concert History

Laura Nyro (born Laura Nigro; October 18, 1947 – April 8, 1997) was an American songwriter and singer. She received critical acclaim for her own recordings, especially the albums "Eli and the Thirteenth Confession" (1968) and "New York Tendaberry" (1969). Several artists, including Barbra Streisand and the 5th Dimension, achieved commercial success with songs she wrote. Although her broader recognition came after her death, she was admired by contemporaries such as Elton John. Nyro was noted for her emotive three-octave mezzo-soprano voice.
