De League of XO Gentlemen begint als hiphop formatie op 3 februari 2000, de dag na het uiteenvallen van Urban Dance Squad. Frontman Rudeboy en turntablist DJ Donotask benaderen voormalig Head-First scratcher DJ Cixx voor het maken van een hiphop album. De eerste tracks worden in het voorjaar geproduceerd met daarop gastperformances van onder meer Vic Ruggiero (The Slackers), Jean-Marie Aerts (ex-T.C. Matic) en N-man (alias Norman Kapoyos, ex-Funky Monks).
