Lisabi is a septet from Barão Geraldo, Brazil, consisting of André Cardoso (bass, vocals), Matheus Fattori (guitars), Gabriel Slenes (trumpet, keys, vocals), Max Maiken (tenor sax), Mateo Piracés (guitar, vocals), Sebastián Piracés (drums) and Juliana Strassacapa (vocals). They combine unusual song structures, frequent shifts in tempo and soft/loud dynamics to create a punk influenced mixture of ska, jazz, latin and progressive rock. Their name pays homage to Funmilayo Kuti, mother of Nigerian musician Fela Kuti.
