Maische Concert History

Maische was an experimental, art rock/math rock band from Burgenland, Austria. Formed in 1988, it consisted of Christian Fennesz (guitar, vocals, piano, samples), Harald Adrian (bass, reeds), and Siegfried Schmid (drums, percussion, vocals). Making frequent use of odd time signatures, the band's mostly instrumental post-progressive shoegaze/grunge sound inspired an underground following in Vienna of the early 1990s. After releasing two albums and contributing to a few Austrian compilations, the group disbanded in 1992.
