Mari Watanabe Concert History

The Japanese singer Mari Watanabe, (Japanese: 渡辺マリ, real name Tomomi Watanabe) was born Saitama in 1942. She was discovered by a talent scout in 1960. In 1961 the song "Tokyo Dodonpa Daughter" 東京ドドンパ娘 became a big hit and sold 15 million copies. After that followed "Ginza Jungle Girl" 銀座ジャングル娘, "Black Butterfly Blues" 黒い蝶のブルース and "Tokyo Boy Hunt" 東京ボーイハント, but she retired from singing soon after.
