Mateusz Smoczynski - presently a student in his fourth year at the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. He is a jazz violinist who debuted in 1999 at the Kalatowki Jazz Camp with Jacek Namyslowski's Quintet. He won the first place and an individual distinction at the Nationwide Review of Young Jazz Bands in Gdynia and in 2000 he won second place at the Festival of Jazz Standards in Siedlce.
