Mimezine Concert History

Mimezine, named after a hallucinating cocktail from the cyberpunk miniseries Wild Palms, started in 1996 when Baz Mattie and Marc Baronner discovered a mutual love for sampling and computers while remixing songs for Shine, the band they were in at the time. As soon as they found the perfect vocalist in Vera van der Poel, Mimezine went on to release a number of singles. In 2001 they released debut album Indeep, co-produced by JXL’s Tom Holkenborg, which was an innovative mix of dance and pop.
