MIRAFIORI nace como un dúo formado por Nacho Fernández y Gonzalo Portellano, aunque posteriormente pasa a convertirse en un proyecto musical de Nacho. Nacho comienza en el mundo de la música a principios de los noventa. Conoce a Gonzalo en el colegio, que toca la guitarra, y empiezan a ensayar juntos; aunque no formarán MIRAFIORI hasta el año 2000, tiempo durante el cual Nacho forma parte de algunos grupos y compone sus primeras canciones.
