Moonrats are giving indie rock its soul back. Founded by former Pretty Girls Make Graves guitarist Nathan Thelen, Moonrats combine melancholy arrangements and dissonant textures with smoky atmospherics and an understated muscular delivery that drifts across the listener’s ears like a soft caress by bruised knuckles.
