Mother Gong Concert History

Mother Gong is a band that grew out of Gong and are based around the vocal talents of Gong co-founder Gilli Smyth (aka Shakti Yoni). Gilli Smyth left Gong and the music business (to the extent that Gong ever entered into it!) in 1975 but returned in 1977 with Daevid Allen for the Planet Gong tour and album. The following year, Mother Gong made its debut with the 'Mother' album. Mother Gong have existed, on and off, ever since. There have been gigs by a Mother Gong 2006 but they also seem to have mutated into Gong Matrices. C'est la Gong! :-)...
