Nels Cline, born in 1956, is a jazz guitarist with heavy punk and experimental influences, has been a big part of the L.A. jazz and rock scene for a couple of decades. In his group The Nels Cline Singers, he lets loose in a way that no other guitar player does, with insane technical ability, unique sound effects, and melodic lines and chords. Nels plays with a beastly upright bass player, Devin Hoff, and an equally great drummer by the name of Scott Amendola(Scott also uses electronics, loops, etc.
