Pirmą kartą dainuojančią ir grojančią "Neriją" žiūrovai išvydo 1970 metais. Nuo to laiko ansamblis nuolat aktyviai koncertuoja ir kuria vis naujas koncertines programas. Šio ansamblio muziką nuolat transliuoja Lietuvos radijo ir televizijos stotys. Iki "perestroikos" išleista 11 albumų, po - 4.
