Peter Frampton (born 22 April 1950 in Beckenham, Kent) is a British musician, best known today for his multi-platinum selling solo work in the mid-70s when he was an "arena rocker". He originally became famous, however, as a young member of psychedelic era band The Herd and became a teen idol in Britain. Steve Marriott reportedly wanted to bring the 18-year-old Frampton into the Small Faces lineup but ended up starting Humble Pie with Frampton instead.

Peter Kenneth Frampton is an English singer, musician, songwriter, and producer who started his musical journey at seven after discovering his grandmother's banjolele in the attic. He has been performing professionally since 1966 and is often regarded as one of the longest-performing and most influential musicians within the rock genre.
At the age of twelve, while a pupil at Bromley Technical school, Peter Frampton played in a band called the “Little Ravens.” At fourteen, he joined the Trubeats and then the Preachers, which later became Moon's Train. Since then, Frampton has toured and played with The Elms, Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band, Styx, Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, and many others.
