Although they claim to be entirely human, Pleasantries’ music is at times as dark as Satan or as lovely as a chorus of angels. Animated videos, boundless guitar shredding, and an effortless fusion of indie rock, symphonic instrumentals, and driving prog rock grooves meet old school influences like The Dear Hunter, Ween, and Jack Stauber. Also, the bandleader Andy Markantonatos would like you to know he won the Palatine Shredfest when he was 8 years old and it’s his proudest achievement.
