Riding in the same Seattle sailboat as A Frames, The Intelligence and The Dipers, Popular Shapes are spitting out punk energy like loose teeth. Like a long-overdue trip to the bathroom, Popular Shapes send out paranoid pangs of excitement and relief. Buzzing guitars fight like school-children in the park while a throbbing melody is quickly extracted from the bass. Beehive-like in the furious activity, each Popular Shapes song flutters like a bat in daylight.
