1) Possessed is an American death metal/thrash metal band and was formed in 1983 in San Francisco, California. After breaking up shortly after The Eyes of Horror, Mike Torrao reformed the band in 1990. After releasing a few demos, the band split up. Possessed reformed again under original bassist/vocalist Jeff Becerra in 2007. They are noted for their fast playing style, Becerra's guttural vocals and have been cited as an influence on the death metal genre.
