To make their debut collaborative album I’ll Send You a Sign, harpist Rebecca El-Saleh (Kitba) and guitarist Dan Knishkowy (Adeline Hotel) entered the studio with nothing but their instruments and pre-existing chemistry. For several months, they had been improvising together regularly, letting the music emerge from free-flowing conversations into sprawling, wordless performances that spanned genre and mood, departing from their more characteristic work as songwriters and composers to convey the types of emotions that transcend language.
